2 Wizards Players Could be Traded This Offseason

June 15, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Basketball

With the NBA season coming to a close shortly, the rumor mill is heating up. The Wizards have found themselves firmly in trade rumors since their elimination from playoff contention. With that, the Washington Wizards are looking to continue their rebuild. Two players have recently seen their names emerge as potential trade pieces. One, Jordan Poole, is coming off arguably his best season in the league. Yahoo Sports recently noted Poole could be moved. The other, Corey Kispert, is a solid rotation player, but may no longer be a good fit for the rebuilding roster. Both of them could easily be on different teams headed into next season. Let’s take a closer look at the trade rumors surrounding the Wizards.

Jordan Poole and Corey Kispert Could be Traded This Offseason

Jordan Poole

Poole, coming into this season, was looking for a fresh start after a not-so-great first season in Washington. Poole ended up completely changing his career outlook this season and rebuilt his trade value. He averaged a career-high in points (20.5), assists (4.5), steals (1.3), and three-point percentage (37.8%). While Poole could find himself sticking around in Washington longer, some see him as a trade option if the Wizards want to move up in the draft.

There are a few teams that have been linked to Poole. While most teams have potential packages to send to Washington, the Wizards most likely wouldn’t ship him out without a decent return of young players or a top-five pick. One team mentioned in some rumors is the 76ers, who currently have the third overall pick and are mocked to draft V.J. Edgecombe. Poole would still be a lead guard in Philadelphia, but would drop down the offensive option list. Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Paul George, Jared McCain, and Poole would make a decent offensive unit, but injury concerns would hurt their chances at a championship.

There are a multitude of other teams interested. The Suns and Magic are two teams that could benefit from Poole.. If the Wizards decide to put Poole on the block, there will be a plethora of teams interested, and they could set the bar high.

Corey Kispert

Kispert is considered the odd man out of the young core being built in Washington. He’s the longest tenured Wizard currently, but with his new contract extension, it would give contenders a decent role player on a good salary and a team option. Kispert has been productive during his short NBA career, but Washington seems to have been shopping him around recently. While he averaged a quality 11.6 points, he shot a career low 45.1% from the field.

His shooting ability and decent offensive IQ have led to him being an interesting piece in a bigger trade. Kispert would provide good value in a package deal, and Washington could see some real returns if Kispert were packaged with a veteran like Marcus Smart or Richaun Holmes. The Lakers, Bucks, Nuggets, and 76ers are teams that could benefit from Kispert’s presence. While Kispert isn’t as valuable as Poole, he could certainly be a nice role player on a contending team. If the Wizards want to move Kispert, it would most likely happen before or during the draft, much like the Deni Avdija trade last year.

The Last Word

These are all circling the rumor mill, but Washington could be fielding calls for both Poole and Kispert. Poole’s value is high, and he can certainly drive a good return for the Wizards. Kispert, on the other hand, would be more valuable in a package deal. Both trades could and most likely would land the Wizards some young prospects or picks. Either way, watch these two names, as they could easily find new homes come next season.
