The post White Sox to wear retro hat for Hall of Fame weekend appeared first on Sox On 35th.
The White Sox are bringing back an iconic look this weekend.
As originally reported by Chris Creamer of SportsLogos.net, Major League Baseball will honor this year’s Hall of Fame induction weekend with a throwback look for all 30 teams. For the first time ever thanks to this new initiative, clubs will wear retro-style caps during games played from July 25-27, 2025. In particular, the White Sox will don the diagonal “SOX” logo with red trim, originally worn from 1951–63.
Creamer reports that each hat, which is designed by New Era, will feature a retro or retro-inspired team logo along with a commemorative Hall of Fame patch on the right side. While caps will change for this weekend only, they will be worn with the unchanged standard team jerseys for each team.
On the other side of the diamond, the Cubs’ look will appear relatively unchanged. The crosstown rivals will be keeping the standard all-blue cap with the red “C” logo, which has been worn continuously since 1959.
