It might not be a late-round surprise like George Wolkow, but this is a Christmas in July pick
With their 13th round pick (No. 376 overall), the White Sox selected catcher Rylan Galvan DePino from the University of Texas. This is a big coup for the White Sox, as the Longhorn was anticipated as a pick in the top five rounds.

The 6´0´´, 215-pounder is a bit of a project at catcher, but has all the basic skills to build on. MLB is high enough on Galvan to project his ceiling as a major league starter, which is not something you find often in the 13th round, at catcher.
MLB ranked Galvan No. 169 heading into the draft, and after going undrafted as a sophomore and left to return to Austin to fine-tune his game, there is zero chance the White Sox made this pick without the framework of a deal put together.
