White Sox Minor League Update: July 13, 2025

July 14, 2025 by South Side Sox

The Dash were suspended due to weather but everyone else scored a W, including a solid Davis Martin rehab start

Charlotte Knights 4, Memphis Redbirds 2 (Statcast box)
Davis Martin made his second rehab start with the Knights (47-45), and was able to set them up for success as Charlotte defeated the Redbirds (47-44), 4-2. Davis gave up a walk to lead off the game, which became the only run he gave up after an RBI single brought that walk in.

Peyton Pallette came in to relieve Martin in the fourth, and ended up with the win thanks to the Knights tagging three runs in the third to take the lead. The bullpen gave up just two more hits during the game, and struck out two, and Jairo Iriarte finished out his one inning for his first save of the season.

Charlotte was out-hit (four compared to Memphis’ two), but they rallied for three runs in the third, which began with a Vinny Capra bomb — just as he did the night before. Andre Lipcius joined the homer train and mashed an insurance run in the top of the sixth, and the bullpen was able to hold on for the win.

Birmingham Barons 4, Biloxi Shuckers 3 (10 innings)
The Barons (49-38) scored three runs early in the first two innings but the Shuckers (49-38) were able to tie it up to force extra innings before Birmingham scored the go-ahead run in the 10th. The Barons were able to hold on and complete a six-game sweep as they defeated Biloxi, 4-3.

Jake Palisch tossed the first four innings, and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out three, and righthander Dalton Roach allowed the only other Biloxi run, in the fifth. The bullpen was otherwise solid and gave up just two more hits the rest of the game, and held off the Shuckers in extras to seal the Barons win.

Offensively, Bham posted eight hits and went 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position, but still left eight on base. William Bergolla and Jacob Burke both posted two hits, and Bergolla accounted for one RBI while Jacob Gonzalez took credit for the other two — including the sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th to score the run that ended up winning the game.

Winston-Salem Dash 2, Greenville Drive 1 (Suspended top 3)
The Dash scored first thanks to a two-run bomb from Alec Makarewicz, but gave one back in the bottom of the inning as a run scored while the Drive attempted to extend a single to a double. The game was ultimately suspended in the top of the third due to rain, and will be rescheduled at a later date.

Due to incoming inclement weather, this game has been suspended.

This game will be resumed as part of a double header that will be scheduled at a later date.

Tickets from today’s game can be exchanged for tickets to any upcoming home game based on availability. For more…

Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 4, Myrtle Beach Pelicans 2
Kannapolis (40-47) scored first with two runs in the first, and eventually broke the tie to defeat the Pelicans (39-45), 4-2. Kaleb Sophy managed the first 4 1/3 innings on the mound for the Ballers, and though he walked three, they didn’t end up being a problem — but the five hits he gave up were.

Hale Sims took over for the next 2 2/3 innings and gave up just one hit was awarded the win, his first of the year. Jonathan Clark followed suit and was able to get the save, and thankfully the offense did what they needed to be able to maintain the lead.

Just two Kanny batters had multi-hit days (Ryan Burrowes and Nathan Archer), but four Ballers were able to drive in a run, including T.J. McCants ripping a home run to right in the bottom of the eighth to tack on an insurance run.
