The Knights split their six-game series at home against the Gwinnett Stripers (29-46).
Stop me if you have heard this before, but Brooks Baldwin, 24, had a phenomenal week. What on earth is happening with this guy? Baldwin has not put it together at the major league level, but he cannot be stopped in Triple-A. Baldwin’s biggest game was on Tuesday, when he went 3-for-3 with two homers, a triple, and a walk. That was his first game after being optioned back down to Charlotte after an extremely brief stint with the White Sox. Baldwin is a bit of a mystery given the massive discrepancy between his numbers with the Knights and White Sox. In 96 minor league at-bats (all with the Knights) in 2025, Baldwin is slashing .375/.444/.781. Bravo to Baldwin on yet another huge week, and this marks the first-ever time a player has won a weekly award three times in a row.

The Barons recovered from a 1-5 week (and collapse out of first place and a first-half title) by taking six of seven at home against Columbus (26-40). Incredibly, the Chattanooga Lookouts (37-28) went 6-0 this week to narrowly hold onto first place in the Southern League North.
Starting pitcher Lucas Gordon, 23, made easy work of Columbus on Friday. Gordon opened the season with the Dash, and had been with Winston-Salem until this week. Gordon was not fazed by the higher level of competition in the slightest. After winning two weekly awards already with the Dash, Gordon wasted no time getting on the board with the Barons. Gordon pitched six excellent innings, only allowing one hit and striking out nine while issuing zero walks. Gordon’s dominance in his Double-A debut was enough for him to be the most valuable Baron of the week.

After four consecutive 3-3 weeks, the Dash went 3-2 to break the trend against Rome (30-38). Winston-Salem has opened up the second half on a high note, as they are 2-1 after finishing the first half at 25-40.
Despite the 3-2 week, the offense was not very productive, only scoring 15 runs in five games. However, the pitching staff was up to the difficult task. That effort was led by Frankeli Arias, 22, who was terrific on the mound. Arias only allowed one hit in five innings of work, and the only run he allowed was unearned. That excellent performance lowered his season ERA to 3.61, and his FIP sits at 4.51. Arias has been trending in the right direction for a few weeks, as he has only allowed four earned runs in 22 2⁄3 innings (1.59 ERA) since May 25.

The Cannon Ballers have fallen on hard times, as they have lost 10 in a row and 11 of their last 12. Kannapolis will look to end this cold streak this week, on the road against Fredericksburg (32-36).
As you can see from this week’s statistics, there were not many strong performances. However, starting pitcher Luis Reyes, 19, had a great outing on Saturday. Reyes, who was born the day after the iconic A.J. Pierzynski dropped third strike, scattered four hits across seven shutout innings. Reyes collected five strikeouts while only issuing one walk.

The ACL White Sox had yet another winning week, as they have recovered from a slow start and are now 20-16.
Center fielder Marcelo Alcala, 19, provided a steady source of offense throughout the week. In 20 at-bats (23 plate appearances), Alcala posted an .898 OPS, and without him, this week would have been much less successful.
In a smaller sample size, left fielder Albertson Asigen, 23, was even more dominant. Asigen only had nine at-bats (12 plate appearances), so Alcala edged him out for the weekly award, but Asigen was extremely difficult for opposing pitchers to keep off base.
Starting pitcher Fabian Ysalla, 20, was also on top of his game. Ysalla pitched five shutout innings to lower his season ERA to 1.45 in 31 innings. Ysalla only allowed two hits during his five innings, and overall this season, opponents are slashing only .215/.300/.299 against him.

The DSL White Sox had a rough week, only winning one of four to fall back to a losing record.
Pitcher Yobal Rodriguez, 17, is on fire to begin his professional career. Rodriguez is setting hitters down left and right, and he has not allowed any runs in 11 2⁄3 innings. Rodriguez has only allowed one hit, he has only issued one walk, and he has struck out 13.
