As James mentioned in Saturday’s pregame notes, the White Sox added utility infielder Tristan Gray to the 40-man roster.
Gray, who joined the organization as a non-roster invitee this past spring, has played in 61 games for Charlotte with a relatively even distribution of playing time around the infield: 24 starts at second, 16 starts at third, and 14 starts at short. That effectively covers Vinny Capra’s skill set without requiring a spot on the 26-man roster, and Gray’s left-handedness could also be a factor in any plans if the White Sox move (on from) Josh Rojas.
