Coordinator of Multicultural Public Relations

Job Description:

The Chicago White Sox are looking for a vibrant and creative team member who is passionate about community engagement to join us as our Coordinator of Multicultural PR. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Public Relations, this full-time position offers the opportunity to lead outreach, elevate multicultural partnerships, and play a pivotal role in shaping the team’s connection with Chicago’s diverse communities.

Responsibilities

Multicultural Community Outreach

  • Manage the planning, preparation and execution of the White Sox presence and activation at community events for Latino, African American, AAPI community programs, among other multicultural community programs.
  • Provide on-site staffing at multicultural community events, as needed.
  • Cultivate, manage and strengthen key relationships with cultural community partners.
  • Coordinate the year-round calendar of multicultural events.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of partner agreements with community organizations and events.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of multicultural partnerships and activations as well as event recaps and end-of-year summaries.

Multicultural Media Relations/Public Relations

  • Proactively pitch and secure earned media coverage related to White Sox multicultural initiatives in the ballpark and in the communities.
  • Develop culturally focused storylines to elevate across White Sox channels, including earned media, social media and broadcasts.
  • Support execution of MLB multicultural announcement initiatives through tailored communications, coordinating assets internally, etc.
  • Assist team with the content needs of Los White Sox digital platforms, including idea generation and content planning.
  • Identify influencers to develop authentic, culturally relevant content for in-park and neighborhood activations.

Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in the communications field (public relations, multicultural communications, or digital communications, or related field)
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Demonstrated experience in special event planning, logistical coordination, and on-site event management
  • Creative, culturally sensitive, and innovative mindset to develop engaging content and programming for diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and basic social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social or native platform analytics)

Job Description: 

The Chicago White Sox are seeking an FP&A Analyst to contribute financial expertise within the dynamic setting of Major League Baseball. The FP&A Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the team’s financial planning and analysis functions. This position involves working closely with departments across the organization to provide insightful financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for the organization.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management on variances and trends.
  • Assist with MLB reporting requirements, including FIQ, iFIQ, LRP, Gate Receipt System ticketing reports, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Collaborate with department heads, including operations, marketing, and ticket sales, to gather and analyze financial data for decision-making.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.

Job Description:

The Chicago White Sox are seeking multiple seasonal Player Development Affiliate Interns. This entry-level opportunity will provide individuals with a wide range of experiences across professional baseball. These positions will report to the Minor League Video Coordinator, while supporting Minor League coaching staffs at affiliate locations throughout the season. There will also be opportunities to work on various baseball operations projects, depending on skill set.

Program Details:
  • The internship is an hourly, non-exempt position.
  • Furnished housing or a housing stipend will be provided.
  • The position will take place at one of our 5 affiliate locations: Charlotte (AAA), Birmingham (AA), Winston-Salem (A+), Kannapolis (A), or Glendale (RK).
  • All positions will start during Minor League Spring Training and end upon the conclusion of the Minor League season, with the potential of extending into Instructional League.
  • Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship (February 10th – September 30).
  • Hours for this position may vary week to week; candidates must be available and prepared to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Directly support players and coaching staff with all day-to-day video and information needs
  • Film and chart each game and any early work requests
  • Compile advanced scouting reports to be utilized prior to each series
  • Manage the setup, operation and data management of all baseball technology
  • Travel with the team on all road trips
  • Aid in the execution of players development plans
  • Complete independent projects as assigned by scouting/analytics/player development/front office staffs
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication, organization skills, and eagerness to learn

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within the Sports Performance Department in the disciplines of Sports Science, Performance Nutrition, Mental Performance, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training to develop holistic athlete centered programs.
