Yoán Moncada led off the second inning strong with a double to right field off of Yankees pitcher Luis Severino. Yasmani Grandal singled to score Moncada and give the White Sox an early lead. Oscar Colás smashed a home run to center to extend the White Sox lead to 3–0.
Luis Robert Jr. singled and stole second base and then stole third base in the bottom of the third inning. Yoán Moncada hit his second double of the night driving in Luis Robert Jr. extending the White Sox lead, 4–0!
Mike Clevinger shut down the Yankees in the top of the fifth inning by striking out the side.
Trayce Thompson singled to lead off another rally for the White Sox. He stole second and Eloy Jiménez reached on an error by second baseman, Gleyber Torres, which allowed Thompson to score.
With the bases loaded and nobody out, the Yankees created a threat. Aaron Bummer came in with a lights out performance and struck out Oswaldo Cabrera and forced Kyle Higashioka into an inning-ending double play.
The White Sox put together a rally in the top of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, Elvis Andrus stepped up to the plate and hit a bases-clearing double down the left field line! Tim Anderson singled to drive in Elvis Andrus and extend the lead, 9–2.
Gregory Santos pitched two impressive innings to close out the game and secure the win for the White Sox.
