January 28, 2025 by South Side Sox

Four straight complete games in the 2005 ALCS are commemorated with this unique bobblehead giveaway. | Chicago White Sox

Celebrate 125 years on the South Side with a variety of unique promotional items

Hello, White Sox fans! The season is drawing closer each day, and Spring Training arrives in about two weeks. With that comes the promotional schedule, so let’s take a peek at the press release and see what’s up for grabs this season.

Several limited-edition items commemorating the White Sox organization’s 125th anniversary and a first-ever Sunday Bobblehead Collector’s Series, presented by United, top the list of fan giveaways scheduled for the 2025 season at Rate Field.

Headlining items that pay tribute to iconic moments in franchise history, the first Major League Baseball club collaboration with vintage apparel provider Homage features a 1914 Baseball World Tour Shirt, presented by Coca-Cola, on Saturday, May 24 vs. Texas (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark).

1914 Baseball World Tour Shirt

I have to give credit where credit is due. Homage shirts are the comfiest shirts I’ve ever worn. Their products are unique, as we even have a partnership with them. I might have to get this one.

Additional giveaways recognizing the storied decades throughout White Sox history include:

  • 125th Anniversary Plush Blanket, presented by BMO, on White Sox Opening Day, Thursday, March 27 vs. Los Angeles Angels (first 20,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
125th Anniversary Plush Blanket

Honey, get the White Sox plush blanket out! We’ve got guests coming.

  • 1907 Replica Jersey, presented by RUSH, on Saturday, March 29 vs. Los Angeles Angels (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
1907 Replica Jersey

I don’t personally wear jerseys, at least not often. This, however … I’d reconsider my stance.

  • 1920 Jersey Hoodie, presented by Rate, on Saturday, April 12 vs. Boston (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
1920 Jersey Hoodie

A Saturday giveaway, so this might go fast. It’s a beaut, and I would be willing to deal with that Chicago chill to get my hands on it.

  • 1972 Dick Allen MVP Bobblehead, presented by Binny’s Beverage Depot, on Saturday, May 3 vs. Houston (first 15,000 fans ages 21+ who enter the ballpark)
1972 Dick Allen MVP Bobblehead

Get your paws on Coopertown’s newest resident, Dick Allen. One of the coolest to play the game is now a bobblehead and a must-get item. However, I will be docking points for not giving him a cigarette. Do better, White Sox.

  • 1940s Varsity Sweater, presented by Blue Moon, on Saturday, May 10 vs. Miami (first 15,000 fans ages 21+ who enter the ballpark)
1940s Varsity Sweater

I promise I don’t like everything, but I like this. I can pretend the sleeve doesn’t have the Blue Moon logo.

  • 1993 Division Champs Rope Hat, presented by Wintrust Financial Corporation, on Saturday, June 7 vs. Kansas City (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
1993 Division Champs Rope Hat

This year’s theme, outside of some special anniversaries, is living in the past. If 1993 was a special year for you, here is the perfect hat to commemorate the season.

  • 1959 Comiskey Park Radio, on Saturday, June 28 vs. San Francisco (first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
1959 Comiskey Park Radio

This is really neat! But genuine question, how many people still use radios like this?

  • 2005 Champs Hawaiian Shirt, presented by Beggars Pizza, on Friday, July 11 vs. Cleveland (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
2005 Champs Hawaiian Shirt

Hawaiian shirts will never be my thing, and that’s fine. If you happen to be a Hawaiian shirt appreciator and want to celebrate the 20th anniversary of winning the World Series — well, you’re in luck!

  • Mark Buehrle Replica Statue, presented by Miller Lite, on Saturday, July 12 vs. Cleveland Guardians (first 15,000 fans ages 21+ who enter the ballpark)
  • 1960 Bill Veeck Bobblehead, on Saturday, August 9 vs. Cleveland (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
1960 Bill Veeck Bobblehead

I don’t know who would want or need this, but it’ll be available if that’s you.

  • 1980s Sweater Vest, presented by Rate, on Saturday, August 23 vs. Minnesota (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
1980s Sweater Vest

DA SOX!

  • 1933 Babe Ruth & Al Simmons Figurine, on Saturday, August 30 vs. New York Yankees (first 15,000 fans who enter the ballpark)

The organization’s Babe Ruth & Al Simmons Figurine celebrates the inaugural MLB All-Star Game, held at Comiskey Park on July 6, 1933, during the Chicago World’s Fair. The game featured White Sox outfielder and All-Star vote leader Al Simmons, third baseman Jimmy Dykes and major league legend Babe Ruth, who hit the first home run in All-Star Game history.

This is one of the more unique grabs this year and great for the baseball historian in your life.

Mark Buehrle’s Replica Statue giveaway continues fan celebrations for the 2005 World Series Champion and five-time American League All-Star’s scheduled statue unveiling at Rate Field, just one day prior on Friday, July 11.

New for the 2025 season, the White Sox will introduce the Sunday Bobblehead Collector’s Series, presented by United, which offers fans several exclusive designs honoring iconic figures from historic eras in franchise history. Fans attending select Sunday home games will have an opportunity to collect the following limited-edition bobbleheads:

  • Charles Comiskey Bobblehead, presented by United, on Sunday, May 25 vs. Texas (first 7,500 fans who enter the ballpark)
Charles Comiskey Bobblehead
  • Ray Durham Bobblehead, presented by United, on Sunday, June 8 vs. Kansas City (first 7,500 fans who enter the ballpark)
Ray Durham Bobblehead

Here is the first bobblehead of what I like to refer to as the “remember this guy and don’t focus on the players on the field” series.

  • Luis Aparicio Bobblehead, presented by United, on Sunday, June 29 vs. San Francisco (first 7,500 fans who enter the ballpark)
  • Buehrle, Garland, García & Contreras Bobblehead, presented by United, on Sunday, July 13 vs. Cleveland (first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark)
Buehrle, Garland, García & Contreras Bobblehead

The only players the team could get for Sox Fest! Happy 20th anniversary of having a winning team.

  • Ozzie Guillén Bobblehead, presented by United, on Sunday, August 10 vs. Cleveland (first 7,500 fans who enter the ballpark)
Ozzie Guillén Bobblehead

Yes, we’re celebrating 2005. But also, sorry for the whole Tony La Russa/Pedro Grifol/Grady Sizemore/Will Venable thing. This bobblehead attempts to capture Ozzie’s “big and tall” call to the pen for Bobby Jenks … or, well, that had better be the idea here.

  • Ken Griffey Jr. Bobblehead, presented by United, on Sunday, August 24 vs. Minnesota (first 7,500 fans who enter the ballpark)
Ken Griffey Jr. Bobblehead

Do you remember when the White Sox got Ken Griffey Jr. at the trade deadline on July 31, 2008, and on Oct. 30, 2008, the White Sox declined a $16 million option? Cool. Just wanted to remind everyone of that.

At least the bobblehead captures Griffey’s great assist from center field in the Blackout Game. I’ll give them that.

Fan-favorite multicultural celebrations and beloved signature giveaways also are highlighted by the debut of the organization’s first-ever Puerto Rican Jersey giveaway in conjunction with an inaugural Puerto Rican Heritage Night, held Friday, August 29 vs. the New York Yankees (first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark). Additional must-have items are tied to several highly anticipated matchups, including:

Puerto Rican Jersey
  • Mexican Heritage Jersey, presented by Modelo, on Mexican Heritage Night, Friday, June 6 vs. Kansas City (first 15,000 fans ages 21+ who enter the ballpark)
Mexican Heritage Jersey
  • Guayabera, presented by Modelo, on Hispanic Heritage Night, Friday, September 19 vs. San Diego (first 15,000 fans ages 21+ who enter the ballpark)
Guayabera
  • St. Paddy’s Hockey Jersey, presented by Miller Lite, on Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, September 20 vs. San Diego (first 15,000 fans ages 21+ who enter the ballpark)
St. Paddy’s Hockey Jersey

There is a Pride Night that will likely have poor promotion again this year. He Gets Us brings in too much cash, so the LGBTQIA+ community gets the shit end of the stick. If you’re interested, you have to purchase a special ticket this year, and all you get is a hat with your ticket.

Other themed nights include Oktoberfest, Sports Media Day, Nurses Night, Loyola Night, African-American Heritage Night, Police & Fire Night, Elvis Night, Grateful Dead Tribute Night, Christmas in July, Italian Heritage Night, Illinois State University Night, Polish Heritage Night, Greek Heritage Night, Southpaw’s 21st Birthday, Reggaeton Night, Illini Night, DePaul Night, Harry Potter Night, Star Wars Day, UIC Day, Weather Day, and my personal favorite, Dog Day.

Returning for the 2025 season, fans will again enjoy additional savings through the $5 Tuesday concessions menu, which will include select menu items like hot dogs and draft beer. For more information, visit whitesox.com/Tuesdays.

Season-long homestand promotions that fans have come to know and love return in 2025. Firework Fridays promotions will light up the sky with awe-inspiring postgame shows every Friday home game this season (aside from June 27). Family Sundays, presented by Coca-Cola, will offer specially priced tickets and a Kids Run the Bases promotion on Sunday home games during the 2025 season.

With that said, what is a must-have for you? What night are you looking forward to the most?
