A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded Tuesday afternoon in a shooting on the city’s Far South Side, according to Chicago police.
The teen was standing in the front yard of a home in the 11300 block of Stewart Avenue in the Roseland neighborhood when he was struck in the head by gunfire, police said.
He was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition. Police recovered a weapon at the scene, but offered no other details as an investigation by Calumet Area detectives got underway.
