A 44-year-old man died early Tuesday morning after forcing the doors open on a CTA Red Line train car and falling onto the tracks, Chicago police said.
At around 4:40 a.m., police said the man exited a moving Red Line train near the 79th Street station in Grand Crossing, made contact with the third rail and was pronounced dead.
The death is under investigation, police said. CTA Red Line trains were delayed Tuesday morning but service was restored.
