Keith Law’s latest mock has the White Sox picking the most White Sox pick imaginable

July 10, 2025 by South Side Sox

The way Keith Law sees it, the White Sox will dip into the big southpaw pot once more next week, picking Oregon high-schooler Kruz Schoolcraft with the No. 10 overall pick. | Perfect Game/Instagram

Tall? Check. Lefty? Yup. Pitcher? Sure thing: Kruz Schoolcraft

Yesterday, Keith Law at the Athletic published his latest mock draft, one which, sadly, still has the 41-121 2024 White Sox picking 10th overall.

The good news is that the White Sox may be honing in on a familiar source of talent — with a twist.

Law has the White Sox snagging Oregon high-schooler Kruz Schoolcraft at No. 10 overall. Kruz is a lefty starter, and runs an almost unimaginable 6´8´´. On top of that, Schoolcraft is regarded as a two-way player, having twice been named Perfect Game’s two-way player of the year and also twice now taking home the crown as Prep Baseball’s Oregon Player of the Year.

This pick might be considered a reach, given PB ranks Schoolcraft as just the 15th-best prep player on its board. And the White Sox wouldn’t be picking Schoolcraft as a budget move, as the high school senior has committed to the University of Tennessee for the 2026 season.

Over 54 innings in 2025, Schoolcraft allowed just three earned runs, for a 0.39 ERA. He struck out 96 hitters against just 16 walks and choked opposing offenses to a .125 average.

As a hitter, first baseman Schoolcraft slashed .482/.637/.906 on the season, with 10 homers, six doubles and 30 RBIs, striking out just four times against 37 walks.

The lefty also pitched his Sunset H.S. club to the state title this spring, getting on base four times in the title game and throwing the final inning.
