One more in L.A.!
The White Sox have one more night in Los Angeles against the Dodgers before flying to Colorado to play a team more their speed. Despite a competitive game Wednesday night, the White Sox are on the verge of being swept.
The team is also adding to the youth movement, bringing one of their top prospects up for Friday’s game. Montgomery has been slashing .215/.295/.711 with 50 hits, 11 home runs and 32 RBIs mostly at Triple-A Charlotte, sandwiched around a tear-down-build-up stint in Rookie Ball. Montgomery is on the Futures Game roster during All-Star weekend — a contest he’ll happily skip if it means making an impact in the majors.

Aaron Civale will get the start this evening. Civale, 1-4, has had a tough time with the Sox, and owns a rather inflated 4.74 ERA. An actual first baseman, Ryan Noda, will be the designated hitter tonight, as Miguel Vargas is back on first base.

Dustin May, 4-5, will be on the mound for the Dodgers tonight. Like Civale, May has a rather elevated ERA of 4.68 — so expect the Sox to treat him like a Cy Young candidate.
