Now is the perfect time to forget about yesterday’s game
The first game of the 2025 Crosstown Classic, part of “Rivalry Weekend” as MLB is trying to brand it despite appearing to be unaware of actual rival teams, didn’t end well for the South Siders. But today is a new day, and the White Sox will likely find another way to lose against the oh-so obnoxious Cubs.
Sean Burke will be on the mound. Miguel Vargas, who has been on fire lately, bats second today. Hopefully, his at-bats from yesterday will inspire his teammates to hit the ball, preferably in the air and over the ivy.
Saturday’s guys.

Matt Boyd will be starting for the North Siders. Pete Crow-Armstrong will be leading off, ahead of all the other guys who, unfortunately, can hit as well. Ugh.
White Sox Saturday.

First pitch is 1:20 p.m. CT. Because it’s Chicago vs. Chicago, there are plenty of places to watch and listen. For the White Sox announcers you can watch on CHSN or listen on ESPN Chicago 1000. For Cubs announcers you’ll have to tune in on the Marquee Sports Network or 670 The Score. But why would you want to do that? We will also be chatting and watching over at Playback as well.
