Flaccid offense? Just head north of the border!
Who knew that the limp White Sox bats could be cured simply by entering Canadian airspace? Well, either that or the pregame spreads got switched, and food meant for the offensive juggernaut that Toronto has become in June was delivered to the visitors’ locker room instead.
You might have missed it on the broadcast last night, but the White Sox flashed another way they are embracing a youth movement this season, by matching a team mark last set 103 years ago:

Here’s how today’s matchup breaks down:

Innings-eater Aaron Civale is on the bump for his second White Sox start, while rotation stalwart José Berríos starts for Toronto.

This lineup screams Sunday getaway, but shows up on Saturday instead. Ryan Noda and his .278 OBP is stacked up top, but hey, lefty-righty matchup! To be fair to manager Will Venable, he’s playing a hunch, not only with the lefty match to Berríos but that Noda carries a 2-for-5, HR career facing the Toronto hurler. Look for Benny, batting third, to stay hot as well, with a career .313 average and four extra-base hits off of Berríos.
Flip side, Vlad Guerrero Jr. feasts pretty well off of Civale, and two other Blue Jays match Vladdy’s .400 career mark against the White Sox starter.

Game time and broadcast info are nested in the graphics above. Chrystal O’Keefe, assuming she is continuing to thrive during her birthday week, will have your recap coverage.
