Can this team ACTUALLY win a series … ?
Happy Sunday! Today the Chicago White Sox play the finale of this three-game set in Sacramento, and the end of a long, three-series road trip, against the Athletics. After an offensive explosion led to 10 runs yesterday, the team hopes to keep it going into today, and hopefully take the series with a win. Brandon Eisert will be on the mound against Osvaldo Bido.
Also, in case you were wondering, Tim Elko has two more home runs today with the Charlotte Knights. Just throwing that out there.
Eisert will start the game, followed by Davis Martin later taking over as the bulk starter. A little bit of a different strategy here, especially with a team that is already struggling after losing Martín Pérez. Eisert is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA out of the bullpen this year, with 6 2⁄3 total innings pitched. Martin is 1-3 this season with a solid 3.95 ERA. He has 16 strikeouts in 27 1⁄3 innings pitched.
Bido is 2-2 with 4.85 ERA this year for the Athletics. The 29-year-old righty has been with the Athletics for two seasons now, after spending the early parts of his career in the minor leagues. His last outing against the Texas Rangers was a rough one, as he went 5 1⁄3 innings with eight hits, eight runs, and three walks.
