Seattle comes to town for three
Happy Monday! It’s a new week and a new series, this time against the Mariners. While it pains me to revisit last week, well, mostly the weekend, there is something to celebrate from it.
The White Sox got some good news on Monday: Miguel Vargas was named American League Player of the Week for May 12-18, his first career weekly honor! Vargas batted .417/.423/1.000 (10-for-24) with two doubles, four home runs, nine RBIs, and five runs over six games. Kudos to Miguel Vargas and Marcus Thames, who helped put him back on track.

Now for the lineup:
Davis Martin will get the start. Martin was great in his last outing against the Reds, allowing just one run over a career-high 6 ⅔ innings.

Luis Castillo will be on the mound tonight for Seattle. Castillo’s ERA matches Martin’s at 3.65, so we could see a good old fashioned pitchers’ duel if we’re lucky.

First pitch is 6:40 p.m. CT. You can catch the game on CHSN and ESPN Chicago 1000. If you happen to be in attendance, you can check out the newest mural honoring Pope Leo XIV outside Section 141.
