
The South Siders look to clinch their third consecutive series victory
The White Sox (38-66) are looking to keep the good times rolling against the North Siders. Tonight’s matchup will be the second game of a three-game series against the Cubs (60-43) at Rate Field.
After the dominant, 12-5 victory over the Cubs on Friday, the White Sox are 6-1 since the All-Star break. Righty Aaron Civale, 30, will start on the mound for the South Siders. Civale had a 4.76 ERA and a 5.15 FIP in 58 2⁄3 innings, and he has been worth 0.2 fWAR this season. During his career, Civale has made four starts against the Cubs, and he has a 1.61 ERA in 22 1⁄3 innings against them.
Rookie Cade Horton, 23, has a 4.04 ERA and a 4.29 FIP, rendering him a 0.5-fWAR in 62 1⁄3 innings. Horton, a right-handed pitcher, will make his second career start against the White Sox. Horton also faced the White Sox on May 16, when he allowed three earned runs on seven hits in five innings. The Cubs proceeded to win the game, 13-3.
