Are we poised for another sweep?
The first full month of baseball is officially over, and the White Sox are exactly where I imagined — last place in the division and 7-23. The South Siders will face the Brewers this afternoon in a series finale, already having lost another series.
Ahead of the game, the White Sox announced Chase Meidroth would be returning and that Gage Workman would be placed on the 10-day injured list.
Prior to today’s series finale vs. Milwaukee, the Chicago White Sox reinstated rookie infielder Chase Meidroth from the 10-day injured list and placed infielder Gage Workman on the 10-day injured list with a right hip flexor strain.

Sean Burke (1-4) gets the start this afternoon. Burke’s ERA is an inflated 6.00 after 27 innings pitched. Not great! But on the positive side, we’ve got our leadoff hitter back, and hopefully some Meidroth magic is what this team needs to put a few runs on the board. This is, oddly enough, the most competent lineup I’ve seen in a while.

The Brewers are ready for a sweep with Chad Patrick on the bump. Patrick enters today’s game with an ERA of 2.45 with 25 2⁄3 innings under his belt. Christian Yelich is not starting today, but the way the Brew Crew have been hitting, that’s not going to matter much.
