Erick Fedde Fans 9 in Sweep Over Rays

April 29, 2024 by Inside The White Sox

Rays struck first in the top of the fourth inning on a Isaac Paredes home run to left field, but their lead would not last long.

In the bottom of the frame, Robbie Grossman would knock an RBI single to score Gavin Sheets. Danny Mendick would bring home Eloy Jiménez with an RBI single of his own to give the Sox a 2–1 lead.

Andrew Benintendi stays hot and adds some insurance in the bottom of the eighth inning on a 2-run RBI single to score Tommy Pham and Gavin Sheets. 4–2 Sox.

Rays would attempt a comeback in the top of the ninth on a Harold Ramírez RBI double, but pitcher Jordan Leasure would enter the game to shut them down and secure THE SWEEP!

White Sox starting pitcher Erick Fedde was dominant on the mound once again. Fedde tossed 8.1 innings, allowing only two runs while fanning nine Rays to secure his second win of the season. Jordan Leasure earned the save.

The Chicago White Sox defeat the Tampa Bay Rays, 4–2, at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, IL.
