A Dyer couple has been charged with public indecency after getting caught fondling each other’s genitals in front of young children during a dance recital at Lake Central High School Saturday afternoon.
School staff at around 4:30 p.m. June 14 alerted an officer working event security to the couple, who were sitting in the auditorium’s second level, according to court records. The officer — along with the people that included small children sitting around them — saw the man and woman each had their hands down each other’s unbuttoned pants, though neither’s genitals were visible, the affidavit said.
The officer approached the two without them noticing him and asked them to leave the theater, which they did after buttoning their pants, court records said. They ran out of the school and proceeded to try and leave, but officers surrounded their SUV, records said.
The man, identified as Steven M. Ulman, handed an officer his driver’s license, but the woman, later identified as Carly Ann Dominski, gave officers a different name before officers went through her purse, records said. Dominski, officers discovered, has active warrants for false informing, identity deception and unlawful possession of a syringe, records said.
Dominski is charged with public indecency and false reporting, both Class A misdemeanors; while Ulman was charged with public indecency. Ulman will appear for an initial hearing July 8.
