Chicago White Sox announce 2025 spring training schedule

February 19, 2025 by South Side Sox

Hold your hats! Fans can watch seven games for FREE on CHSN!

The Chicago White Sox, in collaboration with Chicago Sports Network (CHSN) and ESPN Chicago (AM-1000), have released their schedule for the 2025 spring training broadcasts, bringing baseball directly to fans for FREE! Uncle Jerry ponied up to give you a taste of the new season just before he makes you pay for it. Viewers can watch on CHSN.com, the CHSN app, and across premium providers, including DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, and Fubo.

CHSN will air seven of the South Siders’ spring training games from the Cactus League in Arizona. The action kicks off on Monday, February 24 at 2:05 p.m. CT with a matchup against the Texas Rangers and runs through the spring finale on Monday, March 24, when the Good Guys face off against the Athletics at 2:05 p.m.

A highlight on the schedule includes the game against the crosstown rival Chicago Cubs on March 7 at Camelback Ranch featuring the great Nancy Faust!

The broadcast team for the televised contests will feature John Schriffen and Steve Stone, who will handle the commentary for six of the seven spring games. However, there are a few new faces as well this season. Brooke Fletcher and Connor McKnight will be in the broadcast booth for the White Sox Spring Breakout game on March 16 against the Colorado Rockies at 4:05 p.m. CT. This game marks the beginning of Fletcher and McKnight’s roles with the Sox television crew.

For those of us old Chicago faithful, Brooke is the daughter of former White Sox infielder Scott Fletcher. She brings a wealth of experience as a reporter and will provide in-game reports from the sidelines, as well as contribute to all home pregame and postgame coverage and some select road games.

McKnight, a finalist for the broadcasting position last year that ultimately went to Schriffin, has been part of Chicago sports media since 2009. He joins the team after spending the previous four seasons as the White Sox pre- and postgame host for ESPN Chicago. Throughout the regular season, McKnight will contribute sideline reports while also filling in as a play-by-play announcer for both radio and television broadcasts.

On the radio side, ESPN Chicago will broadcast 10 Cactus League games, beginning on February 22 with the spring opener against the Chicago Cubs at 2:05 p.m. Six of these broadcasts will also feature live webcasts on the White Sox’s official website. For the fifth consecutive year, the dynamic duo of Len Kasper and Darrin Jackson will be on the call for the first eight games. McKnight will join Jackson in place of Kasper for the final two spring games. In addition to listening in on ESPN, the games will also be available on FM-100.3 HD2 and the ESPN Chicago app, ensuring that fans can follow every play from anywhere.

I know, I know. It’s spring training, and for the most part, fans have no idea who is even on the field at this point. But I am going to encourage you to tune in to at least a few games and watch some of the prospects. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. At least I hope so, anyway.
