A Look At Some Of The Best MLB Bobbleheads Of All Time

January 8, 2024 by Last Word On Baseball

Bobbleheads have been around since the 1960s and continue to be popular sports memorabilia collectible items that commemorate sports players in many sports, but especially MLB. Today is also National Bobblehead Day, and what better way to celebrate the occasion than by looking at some iconic bobbleheads? Bobbleheads are monumental collector items representing some of the greats in baseball, such as Joe Carter, Jose Bautista, Cal Ripken Jr., etc. There are so many bobbleheads, and new ones are constantly being made to represent players’ achievements. For example, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the Gold Glove Award with the Toronto Blue Jays. Josh Donaldson won the second MVP Award in franchise history with the Blue Jays.

Which MLB Bobbleheads Are the Best?

Joe Carter, Toronto Blue Jays Golf Tournament Bobblehead

Joe Carter’s name always comes up when we think of star Blue Jays athletes. Carter played 16 seasons with MLB. When he played with the Toronto Blue Jays, he was known for his significant role in helping the team win back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1992. His legendary walk-off home run in the 1993 World Series became one of the most memorable moments in baseball history. While Carter has many different bobbleheads, this specific one is a limited edition. It was created specifically for the Joe Carter Classic Golf Tournament. The masterful and detailed bobblehead showcases Carter in his well-known World Series celebratory pose.

Roy Halladay, Toronto Blue Jays 2003 Cy Young Bobblehead

How could we ever forget Roy Halladay? Although he is no longer with us, his memories remain forever. His iconic Cy Young bobblehead highlights when he won the Cy Young Award in 2003 with the Toronto Blue Jays. As a pitcher, Halladay struck out 2,117 batters during his career and recorded 203 wins and a 3.38 career ERA. Halladay won the prestigious award twice, in 2003 and 2010. He is also the third pitcher to win a Cy Young in both leagues and appeared in All-Star games for both leagues.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Gold Glove Toronto Blue Jays Bobblehead

The Dominican-born MLB player who is just 24 years old has already made history in baseball. That moment when he beat his dad’s personal best. That’s right, Vladdy hit more home runs in a season than his dad. His father hit 44 home runs in 2000, the most he’s ever hit in a season. But Vladdy Jr. recorded 48 in 2021 and has hit 130 in his career. Let’s not forget he also received the Gold Glove Award at first base in 2022, and it was his first. This bobblehead showcases that Gold Glove Win in his stretched splits pose, showcasing his solid defensive first baseman skills.

Jose Bautista, Vernon Wells, and Carlos Delgado Toronto Blue Jays Trio Bobblehead

We are all aware of dynamic duo players, and the Blue Jays had many of them, such as Bautista and Encarnacion. But the Blue Jays also had a trio of players that helped bring success to the Blue Jays. The Bautista, Wells, and Delgado trio bobblehead is tiny yet iconic. On July 5, 2010, Wells was named a reserve for the 2010 MLB All-Star Game. As well as teammates José Bautista and John Buck. Wells also participated in the Home Run Derby when Chris Berman predicted that Wells, whom he nicknamed the “Canadian Breeze,” would carry away the title. This bobblehead commemorates these three players and was given out in 2016 to celebrate the club’s 40th anniversary.

Josh Donaldson, Toronto Blue Jays MVP, Bobblehead

Josh Donaldson was an exciting and skilled player for the Blue Jays. Donaldson won MVP with the Blue Jays, and this bobblehead was perfectly constructed to represent that achievement in his career. The bobblehead showcases him holding the MVP Award. He won the MVP award in 2015 for the American League East. Donaldson is also a three-time All-Star who brought great success to the Blue Jays. He was the first Blue Jays player to win the MVP award in over 30 years.

Aaron Hill Defense Wall, Toronto Blue Jays Bobblehead

When you can bring your A game defensively as a baseball player, the work never goes unnoticed. This Blue Jays bobblehead is well-known as the Aaron Hill Defensive Wall bobblehead. Aaron Hill was good enough to make the top 60 Blue Jays all-time list at number 29. At 25 years old, his bat was developing, and it appeared he would be an All-Star at second. Hill won the ‘Fielding Bible’ award for the top second baseman. He also stole home against the New York Yankees on May 29th in a 3-2 victory.

Cal Ripken, Baltimore Orioles Bobblehead

A 21-year career Hall of Fame Legend from 1981-2001. This commemorative Cal Ripken limited edition bobblehead is well-known in many sports fans’ memorabilia collections. Ripken’s historic consecutive games played streak surpassed Lou Gehrig‘s mark of 2,130, which later reached an astounding 2,632 games. On May 30, 1982, he was on the Orioles’ starting lineup and never left. Only until three more presidents were inaugurated and nearly two decades passed.

Happy National Bobblehead Day

National Bobblehead Day is a day that takes the time to represent many of the greats in baseball. As well as some of the iconic awards or displays of true talent were perfectly created through bobbleheads. These are just some iconic bobbleheads, and every year, more and more bobbleheads come out, and people love to collect them.
