My 2025 White Sox player review — @soxnerd style — continues with a look at SEAN BURKE:
*Right-hander’s average of 8.9 strikeouts per 9 innings in 2025 is tied for the second-highest output in Sox history by a rookie behind Carlos Rodon’s 9.0 innings 2015 (tied Shane Smith 2025)
*Burke set a Sox relief record with 10 strikeouts on Sept. 27 in Washington DC. He broke the record of nine, which was set nine times with the last coming on June 16, 1971 by Bart Johnson.
*Burke’s 133 strikeouts in 2025 were the third-most by a Sox rookie right-hander behind Smith’s 145 in 2025 and Melido Perez’s 138 in 1988.
