My alphabetical-ish review of the White Sox 2025 roster continues with a look at WIKELMAN GONZALEZ:
*On Sept. 6 in Detroit, Wikelman Gonzalez was just the 11th pitcher in White Sox history to face exactly six batters in a game and strike out five of them. No Sox pitcher has faced exactly six batters in a game and whiffed all of them
*Gonzalez’s average of 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings in 2025 was the sixth-highest output among Sox rookies with at least 20.1 innings
*Of the five White Sox pitchers who made their MLB debut at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, he is the only one to do it in a win (June 20, 2025)
*Of the eight pitchers born in Venezuela who made their MLB debuts with the Sox only Gonzalez and Ramon Garcia (May 31, 1991) did it in a win.
