My alphabetical-ish review of the White Sox 2025 roster —@SoxNerd style — continues with a look at MIKE TAUCHMAN:
*The departed Tauchman’s 12 starts as a leadoff DH were the most by a White Sox player since Scott Podsednik’s 12 in 2009. The last Sox DH to many more than 12 starts in a season was Tim Raines in 1992,
*Tauchman hit the White Sox second home run into the Allegheny River at Pittsburgh on July 20th, 2025 at Pittsburgh. Jim Thome hit the Sox first homer into the Allegheny on June 29, 2006.
*Tauchman’s homer on July 21, 2005 off the Cubs’ Chris Flexen was the first in the history of the interleague Crosstown Series hit by an ex-Cubs player off an ex-Sox pitcher (or vice-versa)
*Tauchman, Don Secrist, Rob Scahill, Mike Dunne and Guy Hoffman are the only products of Bradley University to play for the southsiders. He is the first position player from the Peoria, Ill.-based school to play for the Sox.
