My alphabetical-ish review of the White Sox 2025 roster —@SoxNerd style — continues with a look at MICHAEL A. TAYLOR:
*Michael A. Taylor’s 464-foot home run on July 5th in Colorado was the White Sox longest hit of 2025
*Taylor’s .463 average on the first pitch in 2025 was the highest by a White Sox player with at least 41 at bats in that situation since Avisail Garcia’s .506 in 2017
*Taylor, Lenyn Sosa and Miguel Vargas were the only players in the Sox season-ending lineup and in the Opening Day lineup. Only Vargas was at the same position and only Taylor was in the same spot in the batting order
*Nuggets on Taylor’s 3-double game at Sacramento on April 26th:
—Taylor became the 65th player (79th time) to log a 3-double game for the Sox
—-Taylor’s 3-double game was the first by the Sox in an A’s home game since Nellie Fox on July 13, 1952 (second game) in Philadelphia. The Sox never had a 3-double game in Kansas City or Oakland.
—Taylor’s 3-double game was the first in Sacramento
—Taylor got his 3-double game at age 34. He is the oldest Sox player to do this on the road since 35-year old Roberto Alomar on Aug. 31, 2003 at Detroit
—Taylor joins Floyd Robinson (Aug. 22, 1962) as the only Sox players with a 3-double game to play two positions in the game. Taylor played center and right while Robinson played right and left
*Taylor is the only native of Lake Forest, Ill., to play for the Sox
