My alphabetical-ish review of the White Sox 2025 roster continues with a look at MARTIN PEREZ:
*The left-hander (March 31, 2025) and Ed Cicotte (no-hitter in 1914’s second game) are the only White Sox pitchers with a hitless start within the first four games of a season
*Perez joined Jonathan Cannon and Sean Burke as the first trio of Sox pitchers to each post starts of at least five shutout innings within the first games of a season (2025)
*Perez’s WHIP of 1.107 was the lowest on the Sox for pitchers at least 1.1 innings … Jacob Amaya had lowest overall mark (0.00 in one inning)
*Perez’s average of 6.4 hits allowed per nine innings was the lowest on the 2025 Sox who threw at least 29.1 innings
*His 1.25 ERA in August was the lowest by a Sox pitcher (min. 21.2 innings) since Britt Burns’ club record 0.33 in 1981. Perez’s mark ranks tied for 17th overall
