Following the first game of a split doubleheader, the weekend starts with a bang on Friday night. Left-hander Mark Buehrle will become the latest player to get immortalized with his own statue along the right field concourse.

During the original announcement at SoxFest Live, the White Sox said the former pitcher is expected to briefly address the crowd during the unveiling. Plan to get in your seats early, as the celebration will begin promptly at 6:45 p.m., barring any delays from the first game or weather. We will be sure to provide any updates on our social media if there are changes.

In addition to the statue unveiling, the first 15,000 fans through the gates for the second game of the doubleheader will be taking home a 2005 Champs Hawaiian Shirt presented by Beggars Pizza. As is customary every Friday night home game, postgame fireworks will also light up the sky following the last out.

Saturday’s Festivities

  • Exclusive Pregame Patio Party & Photograph Event
  • 2:35 p.m. – 2005 Reunion Pregame Ceremony

The band officially gets back together on Saturday, with an on-field reunion happening pregame. All of the attendees listed above will take part in the celebration, though specifics of the ceremony are not yet known.

Before then, the first 15,000 fans will receive a Mark Buehrle replica statue presented by Miller Lite. Those also in attendance will get the opportunity to take photos with their favorite members of the ’05 team. The White Sox are offering four different packages that will get you access to a pregame patio party and one of the featured photo sessions.

The packages are as follows:

  • Package 1: Mark Buehrle and Scott Podsednik
  • Package 2: Ozzie Guillen and Freddy Garcia
  • Package 3: A.J. Pierzynski, Jermaine Dye, and Jon Garland
  • Package 4: Paul Konerko and Jose Contreras

The team says remaining tickets for all four groups are limited and provided the following clarification for those who may be interested in purchasing a package, if they haven’t already:

Fans who purchase the pregame photo package will be allowed to take a photo with each player in the specific package purchased. Individuals are allowed to attend only one of the photo sessions. Autographs are not allowed. Fans are permitted to bring items that fit within stadium approved bags: a clear tote (12”x12”x6”) or a small clutch (9”x5”x2”). All other bags and bats are NOT permitted. View full details on the bag policy here.

Though no formal plans have been announced, expect the White Sox to honor the late Bobby Jenks throughout the weekend. The team has already announced plans to wear a “45” patch on their sleeves beginning on Friday night, which will last throughout the remainder of the season.
