A Markham resident was charged Monday after one person died and four others were wounded in a shooting in Chicago Heights Saturday.
Lavaris Yarbroug, 30, was scheduled to appear at the Markham courthouse Monday, facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, and one count of aggravated unlawful restraint, according to Cook County circuit court filings.
Chicago Heights police said in a news release they found three people with gunshot wounds and another with face injuries on the 400 block of West 14th Street at about 4 a.m. Saturday. The four people were taken to nearby hospitals and police were notified of another person who was admitted with a gunshot wound.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office reported 27-year-old Kameron Henderson, of Country Club Hills, died early Saturday at Fransican Health of multiple gunshot wounds to his head. Police say two people are in critical condition and two others are in stable condition.
