
An honor for the Cubs outfielder.
Cubs outfielder/DH Seiya Suzuki won National League Player of the Week honors, announced by MLB Tuesday afternoon.
The 30-year-old hit .480 (12-for-25) with three homers, 10 RBI, four doubles, four walks, nine runs scored, a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .552 on-base percentage over the Cubs’ six games in Miami and Cincinnati.
The Japan native led MLB in batting average, slugging and OPS (1.552); tied for first in hits and runs scored; ranked second in on-base percentage and total bases; tied for second in extra-base hits (7); and tied for third in doubles.
It’s the second Player of the Week honor for Suzuki, who also won for the week ending April 17, 2022, and also the second Cubs PoTW award this year. Kyle Tucker won for the week ending April 6, 2025.
