Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Chicago Cubs fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Today is MLB’s All-Star Game.
It also means just 16 days remain until MLB’s trade deadline, which this year will happen July 31. (Commissioner Rob Manfred, per the latest CBA, has the right to set the deadline on any day between July 30 and Aug. 3.)
In that time, the Cubs should be active on the trade market. At least one starting pitcher should be added, because right now the Cubs are in “bullpen game” mode for one of the rotation positions after the calf injury to Jameson Taillon.
In this week’s survey, I have listed seven starting pitchers, all of whom have been mentioned in some sort of Cubs rumors over the last few weeks. Remember that in the case of the Cubs front office, they play things very close to the vest. If you hear a rumor about a Cubs trade, it very likely is something someone made up and not connected to reality.
It does seem, though, as if the Cubs will add one of the names mentioned below by trade. Or more than one.
What do you think? Cast your vote in the survey. Results will be posted later this week. (The photo at the top of this post is not necessarily an endorsement.)
