CHICAGO — Pediatric patients at Advocate Children’s Hospital had a heartwarming surprise on Wednesday.
Chicago Cubs pitcher Brad Keller stopped by the hospital to spend time with children who are battling a range of medical issues.
During his visit, Keller handed out plushies of Clark the Cub, posed for photos with the patients and their families, and talked all things baseball ahead of the team’s evening game.
The hospital says one young patient even offered Keller one of his favorite “squishy” toys as a token of appreciation.
The visit brought smiles to the kids’ faces and lifted their spirits during their difficult journeys.
