Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs were silenced by the Nashville Sounds (Brewers), 1-0.
Iowa wasted a magnificent start by Kenta Maeda, who allowed no runs and just one hit over seven innings. He had a no-hitter going through six innings. Maeda walked three and struck out three.
Porter Hodge came on to pitch the bottom of the eighth and took the loss. He allowed two baserunners—a walk and a single—and retired two batters, one by strikeout, before exiting for Riley Martin. Martin gave up an RBI single to the first batter he faced for the only run of the game. He then got a grounder to first to end the inning.
Catcher Carlos Pérez and center fielder Christian Franklin were both 2 for 4.
Center fielder Greg Allen went 1 for 3 with a double, a walk and two steals.
Knoxville Smokies
The Knoxville Smokies were smoked open by the Biloxi Shuckers (Brewers), 3-2.
Chris Kachmar started and took the loss after allowing three runs on three hits over five innings. Kachmar walked two, hit one batter and struck out one.
Second baseman Pedro Ramirez was 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored.
Shortstop Reivaj Garcia went 2 for 4.
South Bend Cubs
The South Bend Cubs were embargoed by the Lake County Captains (Guardians), 10-5.
Starter Kenten Egbert pitched 3.2 innings and gave up three runs on six hits. Egbert walked three and struck out five.
Joe Nahas gave up three runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth to take the loss. Nahas’ final line was six runs, five earned, on seven hits. Two of the hits were home runs. Nahas struck out two and walked no one.
Shortstop Cristian Hernandez hit a two-run home run in the third inning, his third of the year. Hernandez went 1 for 4.
DH Drew Bowser was 1 for 3 with a walk and two steals. He scored once.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans shut out the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Astros), 1-0.
Four Pelicans pitchers combined on a two-hitter. Starter Hayden Frank permitted just one hit over five inning on his way to the win. Frank struck out six and walked one.
Dominic Hambley did not give up a hit over two innings, but he did walk three while striking out two.
Brayden Spears allowed the second hit in his one inning of work. He did not walk anyone and struck out one.
Jackson Kirkpatrick retired the side in order in the ninth for the save, striking out two.
The only run of this game came on a second inning home run by left fielder Eli Lovich. It was Lovich’s first Myrtle Beach home run and third overall. He was 1 for 3 with two walks.
