Naperville Mayor Scott Wehrli did the honors Friday at a ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the completion of the Washington Street bridge reconstruction project in downtown Naperville. He was joined by members of the Naperville City Council and city officials at the public event. After more than two years of work, the new span over the DuPage River — with decorative limestone and iron features, ornamental lights and pedestrian walkways on both sides — replaces the one that had been there for nearly 100 years.
