“Play Ball, Aurora,” the Aurora Historical Society’s baseball and softball exhibit in downtown Aurora, is coming to a close this weekend.
Since the exhibit opened in June, hundreds have viewed the exhibit each month at the David L. Pierce Art and History Center, 20 E. Downer Place in Aurora, according to Aurora Historical Society officials.
The exhibit chronicles Aurora’s rich baseball and softball history from the late 1800s to the present, including champion fastpitch softball teams like the Sealmasters and the Home Savers, a press release from the Aurora Historical Society said.
The exhibit includes historic photos, uniforms, trophies and awards from various Aurora baseball and softball teams.
The Aurora Historical Society is hosting a special closing reception for the exhibit from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Art and History Center.
For more information on the exhibit and the closing reception, call the Aurora Historical Society museum at 630-906-0650 or email ahs@aurorahistory.net.
