The Cubs have another international series as a highlight.
The Tokyo Dome is pictured at the top of this post because that’s where the Chicago Cubs will be playing March 18 and 19, 2025, facing the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Cubs and Dodgers were chosen for this series in Japan, most likely, because the top four MLB Japanese stars are on these two teams — Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shōta Imanaga and Seiya Suzuki.
Presuming Ohtani comes back to pitching as scheduled in 2025, he’ll almost certainly start the first game for the Dodgers, and Imanaga will do the same for the Cubs. That’ll be a great matchup.
Right now I’m planning on attending these games. Will keep all of you posted. These will be the first MLB games played in Japan since 2019, when the Mariners and A’s opened the season there.
Then the Cubs will play two series on the West Coast, including facing the A’s in Sacramento, before the home opener April 4.
Also of interest: There will be two three-game series vs. the White Sox in 2025, as opposed to the two-game sets we’ve had the last two years.
Here’s the rest of the Cubs’ 2025 regular season schedule. Home games in boldface. I will add game times when they are available.
