CHICAGO — The Cubs have designated Vidal Brujan for assignment and are calling up Moises Ballesteros.
Brujan largely struggled as a utility player with the Cubs by putting up a -.4 WAR and a meager .523 OPS.
He was signed in the offseason after putting up his only positive WAR season last year with Miami.
Cubs catching prospect Moises Ballesteros is coming back up after having a cup of coffee with the club in May.
The lefty could be the subject of a trade at the deadline Thursday, but is DH’ing and batting seventh in Wednesday afternoon’s finale.
The Cubs try to avoid a sweep with Shota Imanaga on the hill.
