Too much rain in the Chicago area made playing baseball impossible Wednesday evening.
About half an hour before the gates were scheduled to open at Wrigley Field, the Cubs announced that Wednesday evening’s game against the Brewers had been postponed due to steady rainfall expected in the area pretty much the whole evening.
The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Monday, Aug. 18 at Wrigley Field. The makeup game will be the first game of the DH and start at 1:20 p.m. CT. The regularly-scheduled game that day will follow at 7:05 p.m. CT.
The Cubs say that if you had a ticket for the Hello Kitty® Special Offer Wednesday and didn’t pick up the item prior to the game being canceled, you can redeem it on the reschedule date, Aug. 18.
Mobile tickets via the MLB Ballpark app will automatically update with the makeup game information — in fact, if you have a ticket for tonight’s game, it should have already been switched to the Aug. 18 date. No ticket exchange is necessary. The Cubs remind everyone thatSeparate tickets are required for each game of the doubleheader and all fans must exit the ballpark after the completion of the first game.
Jameson Taillon, who was scheduled to pitch Wednesday evening, will start the finale of this abbreviated series Thursday afternoon for the Cubs. The Brewers have not yet announced whether tonight’s scheduled starter, Jacob Misiorowski, will start Thursday afternoon. As always, we await developments.
