CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers have announced their Game 4 starting pitchers.
Lefty Matthew Boyd will toe the rubber for the North Siders and righty ace Freddy Peralta goes for the Brewers.
Boyd will be on full rest and only threw 30 pitchers during a Game 1 first inning the Cubs would like to forget in Milwaukee.
You can pull multiple narratives from numbers, but some that could give Cubs fans hope is this — Yes, Boyd hasn’t been good since the all-star break. However he owns a 2.51 ERA at home this year and still competed at home in August and September.
Freddy Peralta is 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA this year. He’s 3-1 with a 3.43 ERA against the Cubs in 21 innings.
The lineups have not been released yet, but Counsell and company will likely stick with the same lineup in Game 1.

The Cubs will hope to force a Game 5 back in Milwaukee Saturday afternoon.
