Cub Tracks takes it on the chin

The #1 source for #Cubs, #MLB, and #MiLB news and notes. The game started out well enough but that well got deep and wide and swallowed the Cubs’ chances of a comeback. Matt Shaw had a good game.

The going is weird. Cub Tracks™ turned pro a long time ago. Cub Tracks™. Where the great ones run AWAY..

Any MLB team can beat you. The good teams WILL beat you.

The Royals are in Chicago for a three-game set. The Kansas City Royals, that is. I watched the game on television and appreciated my pets in person. Speculation is rife as the trade deadline approaches.

Ryan Brasier opened and Ben Brown bridged. Brown gave up a solo homer, but so did Royals southpaw Noah Cameron, to Carson Kelly [VIDEO].

But wait, there’s more — Justin Turner and Matt Shaw made the case for their continued 26-man presence, Turner with a double and Shaw with the Earl Weaver special [VIDEO].

Salvador Perez got the Royals within one in the fourth. The wheels came off not long afterward and the game slipped further away with each successive inning. Eventually batting practice was over and everybody went home.
