The #1 source for #Cubs, #MLB, and #MiLB news and notes. The Cubs managed to hold off the Guardians and take the second game.
The going is weird. Cub Tracks™ turned pro a long time ago. Cub Tracks™. Where the great ones run away.
Any MLB team can beat you. The good teams WILL beat you.
Just a little add-on to the front page. Jed Hoyer said a few words. It sounds like he has the financial commitment from upstairs to do what needs to be done. What exactly that is, remains unseen, but I doubt it will be much like the wonky deals made by ‘insiders’.
“We have to be creative at the deadline. There’s years where it lines up relatively simply where there’s a clear seller, and that seller happens to like your prospects, but there’s plenty of years where you have to be creative and find a creative solution to it. This year may be for those creative solutions if there’s a dearth of those sellers.”
All this and baseball, too. The Cubs faced the Guardians in the middle game of the series, hoping to meatloaf. Tanner Bibee shoved early. Mike Imanaga took the hill and did his thing. He got a little too much plate a few times and Cleveland rocked those for solo homers.
Seiya Suzuki doubled in two [VIDEO] to make it close, and singled in two more [VIDEO]. PCA provided a ribeye and some electricity [VIDEO].
Cubs can sweep today and get ready for the unfriendly Cards, who were swept by the Pirates and will be looking for a new deal.
