(WGN) — The first round of MLB fan voting has been released, and the Chicago Cubs have a pair of players sitting atop the outfield polls for this year’s iteration of the Midsummer Classic.
According to a press release from Major League Baseball, five-tool outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong leads all National League outfielders with 1,126,119 votes, while Kyle Tucker sits in second place among NL outfielders with 704,740 votes.
Crow-Armstrong, amid a breakout offensive campaign on the North Side, is vying for his first All-Star selection, while Tucker is looking for his fourth All-Star nod after making three All-Star teams in his time with the Houston Astros.
PCA and Tucker are trailed by reigning Home Run Derby Champion and two-time All-Star Teoscar Hernández of the Los Angeles Dodgers (685,553); four-time All-Star Juan Soto of the New York Mets (625,618); 2023 All-Star Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks (597,805); and four-time All-Star and 2023 NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. of the host Atlanta Braves (596,363).
With two of their three starting outfielders holding the top two spots among NL vote-getters in the outfield, the Cubs are in line to send two fan-elected starting outfielders to the Midsummer Classic for the first time since 2008, when Alfonso Soriano and Kosuke Fukudome won fan elections.
Other Cubs players in contention include catcher Carson Kelly (2nd, 408,081), first baseman Michael Busch (3rd, 286,931), second baseman Nico Hoerner (3rd, 354,745), designated hitter Seiya Suzuki (3rd, 358,138), third baseman Matt Shaw (4th, 245,102), shortstop Dansby Swanson (5th, 307,173) and outfielder Ian Happ (11th, 284,090).

The 2025 MLB All-Star Ballot, which is available online at MLB.com/vote, will be accessible until the voting period for Phase 1 concludes at 11:00 a.m. CT on Thursday, June 26. During the initial voting period, fans can submit up to five ballots each day on MLB platforms.
On Thursday, June 26, the top two vote-getters at each position (and the top six outfielders) in each league will be revealed on MLB Network at 5 p.m. CT, and they will advance to the second phase of voting to determine who makes the All-Star teams and starts for each league.
Phase 2 will begin at 11:00 a.m. CT on Monday, June 30, with fans voting among the finalists at each position during a three-day window that concludes at 11:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, July 2. Later that night, the winners will be announced on ESPN at 6:00 p.m. CT during the MLB All-Star Starters Reveal Show. During this second phase of voting, in which fans can vote once per day on MLB platforms, vote totals will reset (i.e., vote totals from Phase 1 do not carry over) and the winner at each position (including three outfielders per league) will be named a starting position player for the 2025 Midsummer Classic.
The NL All-Star Team, which will be managed by Dave Roberts of the Dodgers, and the American League All-Star Team, led by Aaron Boone of the New York Yankees, will each have nine elected starters via the fan balloting program. The pitchers and reserves for both squads – totaling 23 for each side – will be determined through a combination of “Player Ballot” choices and selections made by the Commissioner’s Office. The balance of the All-Star rosters will be announced during the MLB All-Star Selection Show on Sunday, July 6th at 5:00 p.m. (ET) on ESPN.
During each phase of voting, the 2025 MLB All-Star Ballot will offer audio CAPTCHA functionality for visually impaired fans. Spanish-language ballots are also available to fans via MLB.com/vota.
