Ben Brown was outstanding last Friday against the Brewers. So far this year, though, he has been much better on the road (three starts, 1.59 ERA) than at home (four games, three starts, 8.59 ERA), though one of those “home” games was in Tokyo.
This is Brown’s first-ever game against the Giants, so here’s hoping he continues the good pitching from last time.
It’s taken a while for Robbie Ray to come back from his Tommy John surgery, which happened almost exactly two years ago. Ray has been good this year, though, and has gone seven innings in each of his last two starts.
Ray hasn’t faced the Cubs since 2019 when he was a Diamondback and the Cub who’s faced him most is Justin Turner (12-for-45, three doubles, two home runs). Kyle Tucker is 4-for-10 against Ray with two home runs.
