White Sox Draft Report: February 16-22, 2026

February 26, 2026 by Sox On 35th

The post White Sox Draft Report: February 16-22, 2026 appeared first on Sox On 35th.

A little more than a week has passed since our last iteration of the White Sox Draft Report, and there have been some notable performances everywhere for the Sox to turn their eyes to. While not much has changed in the order, both Roch Cholowsky and Justin Lebron have furthered their case to be drafted at pick one.

Both faired extremely well, plus we’ll take a look at what has unfolded for both highly touted shortstops, among some others in the mix.

Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA

MLB Pipeline Ranking: 1

Tuesday, February 17

  • 3-for-4, 2 HR, 2B, 3 RBI, IBB, 4 R

Cholowsky stayed red hot this week for #1 UCLA (via D1baseball.com), starting the week with a 13-5 win over Tulane. Versus the Green Wave, the Arizona native mashed one over the left field wall to get scoring started for the Bruins.

Tulane couldn’t slow him down with Cholowsky going yard a second time in the 4th.

UCLA’s shortstop ended his day with a double down the line.

Friday, February 20

  • 2-for-5, 2 HR, 5 RBI, HBP, 2 R

#1 UCLA clobbered the #7 TCU Horned Frogs this weekend in a full sweep, and Cholowsky had a fantastic series to boot. The righty got his day started by obliterating the first pitch he saw all weekend for a grand slam.

TCU’s rough day wouldn’t end with Cholowsky going deep again in the fifth. This marked his second multi-homer game in a row and his fifth homer in five games to that point.

There’s no stopping Roch

Saturday, February 21

  • 1-for-3, RBI, HBP, 2 R

Saturday was a quieter day for Cholowsky, though not without big contributions from the righty. UCLA took down TCU again, 5-1, where they recovered down one-to-none when Cholowsky beat out his own ground ball, allowing a teammate to score.

After leaving the yard twice last night against No. 8 TCU, Roch Cholowsky opens his day at the plate today by turning in a 4.10 home-to-first to beat out an infield single, setting UCLA up to tie the game at 1 in the bottom of the first. pic.twitter.com/VEoXKqJG2A

— Jacob Rudner (@JacobRudner) February 21, 2026

Cholowsky also collected an RBI on a late single, which tallied the final run in a Bruins win.

Sunday, February 22

  • 1-4, HR, RBI, BB, R

Sunday went well, just like every day seemed to this week, always finding a way to contribute. Tied at three, Cholowsky catapulted an 0-2 breaking ball 103 MPH off the bat, just over the center field wall.

— Pipeline to 35th (@PipelineTo35th) February 22, 2026

From this point, it snowballed toward the Bruins, and they would defeat TCU 15-5. Roch was silent after that point, drawing only a walk and playing solid in the field.

Week Stats: 7-for-16, 5 HR, 10 RBI, 2B, BB, 9 R

Season Stats: .393/.486/1.143, 6 HR, 11 RBI, 3 BB, 3 K

Justin Lebron, SS, Alabama

MLB Pipeline Ranking: 3

Tuesday, February 17

  • 1-for-3, BB, 3 SB

For Alabama, an undefeated week at 5-0 was a fantastic result, and shortstop Justin Lebron found ways to contribute, even when struggling at the dish to find hits.

To start the week, the Crimson Tide kept it close against Samford, finding a 3-2 win, where Lebron found success primarily on the base paths and in the field. Scoring didn’t start till late, and a big reason was how well Lebron fielded the Bulldogs, tallying two double-plays Tuesday.

— Alabama Baseball (@AlabamaBSB) February 17, 2026

Three steals were tallied by the Alabama shortstop, who tore the base paths up all week.

Wednesday, February 18

  • 0-for-2, 2 BB, 2 SB

Lebron’s bat fell silent in a 2-1 win for Alabama over Alabama State on Wednesday. The Hornets stung the righty, striking him out twice at the dish, but not keeping him off the base paths, being enough of a threat to collect two steals on the two drawn walks.

Friday, February 20

  • 3-for-4, 2 HR, 5 RBI, BB, 2 SB, 3 R

The weekend series saw Lebron find his bat again versus Rhode Island, starting his day mashing the fifth pitch of the game for a two-run blast off the batter’s eye.

— Alabama Baseball (@AlabamaBSB) February 20, 2026

The Bronx native’s other three RBIs came on a moonshot to left that just barely made it over the wall, making the final score 19-4 Alabama.

— Alabama Baseball (@AlabamaBSB) February 21, 2026

Saturday, February 21 (DH)

  • Game 1: 0-for-4, BB
  • Game 2: 1-for-4, HR, RBI, BB, R

Lebron’s bat fell into a cold streak on Saturday’s doubleheader, but he did collect another home run to match what was the tie for the NCAA home run race at five on the season. Otherwise, it was fairly quiet and a night to forget, with the Rams staff that has been solid all season keeping him quiet.

There goes that man!@thejustinlebron I #RollTide pic.twitter.com/HoZcCvTKcd

— Alabama Baseball (@AlabamaBSB) February 21, 2026

Week Stats: 5-for-17, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 7 SB, 4 R

Season Stats: .286/.474/.821, 5 HR (on eight total hits!), 9 RBI, 8 SB, 4 K

Grady Emerson, SS, Fort Worth Christian (TX)

MLB Pipeline Ranking: 2

As we mentioned previously, starts are hard to come by for high schoolers, but Grady Emerson has built his case for the 1.1 spot regardless. His Texas high school played this weekend, and Emerson flared his first three-run bomb of the season, plus a double to help his team in what was an undefeated weekend.

Drew Burress, OF, Georgia Tech

MLB Pipeline Ranking: 5

Tuesday, February 17 vs Georgia Southern

  • 3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2B, 2 RBI, R

Friday, February 19 (DH) vs Stony Brook

  • 2-for-5, 2B, BB
  • 0-for-4

Saturday, February 21 vs Stony Brook

  • 1-for-4, RBI, BB, 2 R

Sunday, February 22 vs Stony Brook

  • 3-for-4, HR, 3B, 2B, 2 RBI, R

Burress had a fantastic week, compared to last week, for the Yellow Jackets. Capped off by a Sunday in which he was a single short of the cycle, more days like that would certainly accelerate him into the conversation at first overall. Though he was caught stealing three times this week, the speed is off the charts, and his defensive ability is undeniable.

Cameron Flukey, RHP, Coastal Carolina

MLB Pipeline Ranking: 9

Friday, February 13th

  • 5.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 7 SO, 2 HR

Regarded as potentially the best arm from the right side, Coastal Carolina’s Cameron Flukey is a guy we would be silly not to follow along with. With a 6’6 frame, eyes are on him after helping produce what might have been the best college catching prospect in last year’s draft in Caden Bodine.

Flukey’s season started as what may, ironically, be a fluke. While the start is from the weekend prior, the Egg Harbor, New Jersey native is a guy to watch if he adjusts against more mid-major ball, or if he gets the start against Texas on the 27th. He could launch upwards in projections with a stellar start there. He is currently day-to-day with a non-arm injury, and time will tell if he gets on the field soon.

EDIT: Since this article has been posted, on 2/25/26, Flukey was ruled out for 8 weeks.

765 Pitchers hit 95+ MPH on their fastballs last season in college baseball.

Of those who hit it 100+ times, no one threw more strikes than Cameron Flukey (75.1%) 🎯🔥

He hit it 607 times. pic.twitter.com/FaN8Rv9RsY

Other Notable Names

Austin Pierzynski C, UAB

The son of White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski, Austin, launched a missile over the fence in an 8-4 loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats for the UAB Blazers. Only a freshman, hedevelop into a solid hitter in a UAB squad projected toward the top of mid-major programs.

Jack Radel, RHP, Notre Dame

A rare South Dakota prospect, Jack Radel throws dominantly from the right side and will be a guy to watch this season, maybe as a late-round guy. He tallied a start against Central Florida, tallying zero hits and nine strikeouts in six innings, before being pulled.
