Two people were arrested overnight after a conceal carry license holder wounded one of them during an attempt robbery overnight in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, Chicago police said.
About 2:40 a.m., a 39-year-old man was exiting his vehicle in the 5200 block of West Montana Street when two males approached on foot with a firearm and demanded his property, police said.
The victim, a conceal and carry license holder, drew his weapon and opened fire, striking one of the robbers multiple times to the leg. When officers arrived at the scene, they placed the robbers into custody. A 23-year-old man was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition, police said.
Detectives were investigating the shooting.
