A 30-year-old man was fatally wounded Friday night inside of his car parked in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 3500 block of West Wabansia Avenue. Police said the victim was inside of his parked car when he was approached by an unknown male who pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking him to the head before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he later was pronounced dead.
No one was in custody for the fatal shooting and detectives were investigating.
