My alphabetical-ish review of the White Sox 2025 roster continues with a look at TYLER GILBERT:
*On April 25 and 26 in Sacramento, Tyler Gilbert became the first Sox pitcher to start consecutive games since Claude Osteen on July 20 and July 21, 1975 … He was the Sox starter in their first game in Sacramento.
*Gilbert threw a no-hitter for Arizona in his fourth start. He was the first pitcher to join the Sox with a no-no since Francisco Liriano in 2012.
*Gilbert held Cleveland to a .048 average in 2025, which was the third-lowest in Sox history and lowest by a Sox hurler since Skip Pitlock’s .042 in 1974 (minimum 21 at bats). Hoyt Wilhelm set the Sox mark with a .040 average vs. Cleveland in 1966
