Week 8 of the NFL Season is “Bye-mageddon” with six teams on bye. Here are the Week 8 quarterback rankings for fantasy football. This week, the quarterbacks on bye are Kyler Murray, Jared Goff, Trevor Lawrence, Geno Smith, Matthew Stafford, and Sam Darnold. Jayden Daniels, Lamar Jackson, J.J. McCarthy, and Brock Purdy are questionable this week with injuries.
Quarterback Rankings Week 8 Fantasy Football
Tier 1: The Big 5
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 1 | Josh Allen | Carolina Panthers |
| 2 | Lamar Jackson* | Chicago Bears |
| 3 | Jalen Hurts | New York Giants |
| 4 | Patrick Mahomes | Washington Commanders |
| 5 | Jayden Daniels* | Kansas City Chiefs |
This top tier of quarterbacks is the best of the best in fantasy football, with Jackson expecting to return this week, but Daniels is questionable:
- Hurts threw for over 300 passing yards in the Week 7 victory, which was the first time he reached that mark since Week 3 of last season. He now has three straight games of at least 280 passing yards, but he has not reached 15 rushing yards in any of those three games. He topped 40 in three of the first four weeks, so there seems to be a change to the Eagles’ offensive philosophy.
- Mahomes and the Chiefs had an easy victory in Week 7, with Mahomes being taken out in the third quarter after scoring over 26 fantasy points. Mahomes only has one game with fewer than 22 fantasy points on the season.

Tier 2: Low-End QB1s
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 6 | Baker Mayfield | New Orleans Saints |
| 7 | Bo Nix | Dallas Cowboys |
| 8 | Jaxson Dart | Philadelphia Eagles |
| 9 | Drake Maye | Cleveland Browns |
| 10 | Dak Prescott | Denver Broncos |
These guys are low-end QB1s, and I feel comfortable starting any of them as my QB1 this week:
- Nix put up 39.96 fantasy points in the Broncos crazy fourth quarter. He had two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter alone. Nix had 50 passing attempts. This was only the second time this season that he was a top-ten weekly quarterback. He gets a great matchup against the Cowboys in Week 8, which places him inside the top ten of the Week 8 quarterback rankings.
- Maye continues to be spectacular, completing 21 of 23 attempts in the Week 7 victory. He added a season-high 62 rushing yards as well. Maye has a tougher matchup against a great Browns defense in Week 8, but he is still a must-start quarterback.
Drake Maye currently ranks:
2nd in completion percentage
2nd in yards per attempt
2nd in passer rating
2nd in CPOE
3rd in EPA/play
6th in success rate pic.twitter.com/HyI1Q9M2E2— Chad Graff (@ChadGraff) October 20, 2025
Tier 3: High-End QB2s
| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 11 | Daniel Jones | Tennessee Titans |
| 12 | Justin Herbert | Minnesota Vikings |
| 13 | Caleb Williams | Baltimore Ravens |
| 14 | Jordan Love | Pittsburgh Steelers |
| 15 | Joe Flacco | New York Jets |
This tier consists of the high-end QB2s:
- Herbert dropped back and threw 55 pass attempts in the Chargers’ loss. He had 420 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, but two interceptions. This was only the second time he has scored over 20 fantasy points on the season.
- Love did not have a great game for the Packers in Week 7, but he led the team to victory. He threw for under 200 passing yards for the third time this year. The Packers face off against the Steelers in Week 8, who just gave up over 25 fantasy points to Joe Flacco.
Justin Herbert is the first player in NFL history (regular or postseason) to have 35+ completions, 420+ pass yards, 3+ pass TD and 30+ rush yards in a loss. pic.twitter.com/VYdbKzCcO7

Tier 4: Superflex Options Only

| Rank | Player | Opponent |
| 16 | Michael Penix Jr. | Miami Dolphins |
| 17 | Justin Fields* | Cincinnati Bengals |
| 18 | Spencer Rattler | Tampa Bay Buccaneers |
| 19 | Aaron Rodgers | Green Bay Packers |
| 20 | Andy Dalton | Buffalo Bills |
These players are options only in very deep leagues or SuperFlex leagues:
- Fields was finally benched at halftime of the Jets game for Tyrod Taylor. They are noncommittal about who the starter would be in Week 8 against the Bengals’ soft defense. This offense has been so bad that fantasy managers should want no part of it right now.
- It is the revenge game of the season with Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers hosting the Packers on Sunday Night Football. You know Rodgers will want to put on a show against his former team.
- Bryce Young is out with a high ankle sprain, leaving Dalton to get the start. The Bills’ defense has struggled this season, making Dalton a viable streaming option with six teams on byes this week.
