Good morning!
It was on this date in 1949 one Ed Farmer was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Before being a White Sox radio guy Farmer, of course, had a nice 11-year career as a reliever. 1980 was one of his finest seasons: his only All-Star selection, and he saved 30 games for the White Sox, the most by a Sox reliever to that point. (As an aside, look at the pitchers for that All-Star game: every pitcher for the American League played for the Sox at some point, plus Jerry Reuss for the National League)
